January 2021 – For the public-private real-estate partnership NV Zeedijk, Klimaatkantoor designed and developed a walking tour app that tells the future story of the historic inner city of Amsterdam, through the eyes of ten ‘Amsterdammers.’ Former-mayor Job Cohen, city poet Gershwin Bonevacia and Patta-founder Edson Sabajo amongst others, share their vision of the city of future. The audio tour is a gift from NV Zeedijk to the city to celebrate their 35th anniversary and can be accessed on www.stadswandeling.amsterdam for free. The audio tour has been downloaded more than 10,000 times and has received exceptional media attention in Parool, Telegraaf and received four out of five stars in NRC, which covered the tour for 12 weeks in a row.
NV Zeedijk is a public-private real-estate partnership between the Municipality of Amsterdam, several banks and a housing cooperation. NV Zeedijk takes a social purpose to real estate and manages its property with social impact by creating a social infrastructure in the area consisting of individuals, organisations and the community. In accordance with city policy, NV Zeedijk aims at keeping the rents as affordable as possible, while still generating sufficient income for reinvestment in new properties and more affordable housing in the area. As such, NV Zeedijk considers longer tenancies important in building a local community.
